The Wanted Band

Sandy Yamazaki-Regn

Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals

Bio

Early on my biggest influence were the Beatles, but most of my music awareness came in the late 60's early 70's. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Grateful Dead, Allman brothers, were some of the music I played with various bands. My interest in country music didn't peak until I stared teaching swing and line dancing. Collin Raye, Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels, ZZ top and Lynard Skynard are my favorites today. But in the end I am a diehard Parrotthead and will follow Jimmy Buffett across the equator and back again. The lifestyle he lives and sings about is the stuff of my dreams.

Andy Stanton

Bass Guitar

Bio

With a slight grimace (growing up in Salem County I got a hefty second hand dose of cheese country) I used a borrowed bass, my amp and a pair of sore fingers to grind through a few practices. I quickly came to realize that the music we were picking was not what I had always thought country to be. There was rock in it; there was blues in it; and a helping of bluegrass for good measure. The style we play is something that comes natural, I think, to any farm raised country boy, and I think...I think that I'll ride it till it throws me for the last time.

Bill Case

Drums

Bio

One of my greatest musical influences growing up would have to be Kenny Rogers. He was one of my mothers favorites so I heard a lot of him. His voice was powerful when necessary and yet he was still able to make every song feel like it was coming from the heart. To this day, Lady is one of my all time favorite songs. As for current country artists, I would have to say that Diamond Rio is tops for me. There is nothing I like more than to hear harmonies when they blend just right. Metallica and Iron Maiden have always been favorites as well. Most country fans will say that it's just a bunch of screaming, but if you listen to some of the lyrics you'll find some very deep stories being told.

Kenny Goodrich

Keyboards, Vocals

Bio

I have listened to country and classic rock all my life. It wasn't until Garth Brooks released "Ain't Goin' Down ('til the sun comes up)" that I started actually liking it. My musical influences include a strange mix, including Beethoven, Bach (both classical composer and rocker), Garth, John Denver, Barry Manilow, and Led Zeppelin.

Joe Geary

Lead Guitar

Bio

Musical Influences: Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Tool

I've always had my hand in music for as long as I can remember. My first memories are from watching my uncle and grandfather playing together in a band doing old jazz and big band music. I picked up the saxophone back in elementary school and continued playing jazz and classical music up until I graduated high school influenced by some of the greats like the Bird, Coltrane and Stan Getz. During this time I was introduced to the guitar and ended up playing the bass for a number of years in high school with Bad Andy and continuing into college with my fraternity brothers.

Dan Webster

Vocals, Harmonica

Bio

My musical influences are Charlie Daniels and Elvis Presley

Favorite Songs: Your Love Amazes Me (John Berry), God Bless The U.S.A. (Lee Greenwood), Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd), and The Star Spangled Banner.

Back in 1999, a rag-tag group of friends joined together to compete in the annual Colgate Country Showdown. Dan, Andy, Sandy, Joe and their friend Jared Comastro called themselves 'What Exit', a goof on a Jersey saying. With only one song under their belt, they made it to the local leg of the contest and got to play at WXTU's Annual Anniversary Show. After the contest was over, they walked away with second place... not good enough to continue in the contest, but enough to realize that they had something. Thinking nothing of it, the group disbanded.

The next year, Dan somehow convinced Joe to get back playing as lead guitarist and Bill joined the group as the drummer. Sandy returned shortly after to play rhythm guitar. After his (very) short lived stint in Oregon, Andy came back to Jersey and then picked up a bass to join with the group with Kenny coming into the group about a year later.

In May of 2002, the band got together to write their first original and decided that it was good enough to try the Colgate Country Showdown once again. Even though they came up short in the contest, the band won the ears of a few bar owners and the XTU radio station. Within a short amount of time afterwards, the band was steadily booked for bars and events all over the tri-state region.
